Practice happens in relationship with the living world

Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center (RMERC) is rooted in Buddhist wisdom and ecological awareness, offering retreats where meditation, community, and care for the Earth are not separate paths, but one.

Surrounded by forest, meadow, and mountain sky, retreatants gather to deepen mindfulness, compassion, and explore how spiritual practice can respond to the realities of our time, including the ecological crisis. At RMERC, inner transformation and outer responsibility move together.

“For me in this dark time, Rocky Mountain Ecodharma Retreat Center is a shining beacon. It offers what we most need: the inspired leadership of committed teachers, a wild mountain setting to awaken our own power and beauty, the ripening of a Sangha to grow a guiding vision for our people, and the strength to make it real.”

— Joanna Macy, Ph.D. Buddhist Teacher, Activist, and Founder, The Work That Reconnects Network

Retreats for Under-served Communities

We encourage retreats that include people of color, veterans, youth, and other groups which have and continue to bear the brunt of ecological and socio-economic devastation, and are often at the forefront of spiritually rooted activism.
