Learn about the embodied dance of self-compassion combined with mindfulness and how these practices require us to open our hearts and go deeper into our bodies to heal, and the science behind why it works. Learn about the steps of growing your “self-compassion container” so that you can process grief and pain in a safer way. Explore an embodied practice together.
Donna Roe Daniell, LCSW has offered psychotherapy, women’s coaching, family and child therapy and trauma treatment since 2005 as Balance Your Life Coaching and Psychotherapy in the Boulder/Longmont area. She has extensive training in trauma therapy as a Certified IFS Therapist. She now exclusively teaches nature based mindfulness retreats for women in major transitions specializing on midlife, where these bigger events can bring opportunities for personal transformation and healing. She has been a mindfulness and self-compassion teacher since 2008. As a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher and (MSC) Mindful Self Compassion teacher, her training has continued in many years of Theravada & Zen Buddhism teachers and retreats.
In 2018, she designed a unique coaching program for women in midlife, The Midlife Voyage to Transformation, which teaches self-compassion and IFS as the most powerful tools to ignite fierce courage and curiosity in the face of fear and pain. This 5 step roadmap through grief and loss brings personal transformation through diving deeper into oneself. Her memoir of her own midlife struggles, “A Midlife Voyage to Transformation, (June, 2021) shows Donna’s own path through her own grief and how she used these mindfulness tools and guideposts. Donna has training in the resistance work of Joanna Macy, systems thinking, women’s issues, climate action, relational mindfulness and deep listening, facilitation, and ecodharma, which she brings together in her retreat rituals and deep healing circles. She is currently offering Active Hope workshops for CCL and other local climate groups.
