Members Hiking, Summer 2025!
RMERC offers members-only hiking on its peaceful, uncrowded trails just 30 minutes from North Boulder. The center features two main trail areas: northern trails like the Glacier View and Outback Loops, which offer stunning views of the Indian Peaks, are accessible throughout the hiking season; and the southern trails, such as Bill’s Loop and the South Forest Loop, which are only open when group retreats are not in session. These trails wind through serene forests and up to scenic bluffs, providing a quiet, contemplative hiking experience. The southern trails cross St. Vrain creek, a place for peaceful and contemplative meditation along its banks, and a playful spot for kids in late summer and early fall, when water levels are low.
Northern Trails Availability: all season!
Southern Trails Availability: currently, June 3-4 and 9-15, July 26, August 4-5, Oct 7 and 26-29
Hiking at RMERC requires a free reservation and waiver, and is limited to individuals or small groups. Members can bring children and occasional guests, but regular visitors are encouraged to join. No animals, including service animals, are allowed due to the presence of wildlife like moose. The retreat emphasizes respect for the land, with Leave No Trace principles and a focus on mindfulness and connection to nature. Visitors are also invited to reflect at three custom-built shrines that honor the land and its indigenous stewards.
Reservations are accepted up to 6 weeks into the future. We limit hiking to 3 groups each on the northern and southern trails. See more details about hiking here.
